About Romeo and Juliet

William Shakespeare's timeless tragedy follows two young star-crossed lovers torn apart by the ongoing feud between their two families, the Capulets and Montagues, who have turned the city of Verona into a hotbed of violence. After a chance encounter at a party, Romeo and Juliet fight to be together in secret, but the blood spilled between their families means tragedy will be inevitable.

Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare's most iconic and frequently performed plays. Last year, Sean Holmes directed a production of Romeo and Juliet at Shakespeare's Globe that reimagined the play into a Wild West setting.
