In this one-man play, Russell Tovey stars as police officer Joe, who takes a 999 call from Emily, a woman in danger. As he tries to piece together fractured clues about here whereabouts and circumstances, what should have been a simple call for help turns into a thriller where Joe is left questioning what is real.
Written by Chloë Moss and directed by Felix Barrett, The Guilty is based on the film Den Skyldige, written by Gustav Möller and Emil Nygaard Albertsen. It played a sold-out run at the Donmar Warehouse this summer. Read our review of The Guilty.
Tovey expressed his excitement about the play's West End transfer and praised the play's unique concept, saying, “Every single performance at the Donmar vibrated with an energy I’ve never felt on stage – audience and performer connected and intertwined."
The Guilty will play at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 16 January until 3 April 2027.
