Sleeping Beauty in London

Everyone knows the story of Sleeping Beauty: a princess is cursed by a vengeful enchantress to prick her finger on a spinning needle and die on her sixteenth birthday. With the help of three helpful fairies, the princess avoids death and instead falls into an enchanted sleep, one which can only be broken by true love's kiss. It's a classic, heartwarming fairy tale about the power of love. This is not that story. In true panto style, the familiar fairy tale is turned on its head and infused with adult humour, slapstick comedy, and campy spectacle.

The London Palladium's 10th annual pantomime is here, with all the spectacle, star-power, and irresistible comedy of preceding years. Last year they tackled Robin Hood; this year they'll bring you the dreamy, romantic story of Sleeping Beauty. Like every year, the spectacular, larger-than-life show will feature a star-studded cast: pantomime royalty Julian Clary returns as King Julian, with comedy legend Catherine Tate (Doctor Who, The Catherine Tate Show) starring as the villain, Carrabosse. They'll be joined by Palladium panto favourites like Paul Zerdin as The Great Zerdini, Nigel Havers as Keeper of the Privy, and Rob Madge as The Diva of Dreams. Joining the cast are Jon Culshaw as King Julian's private detective and West End stars Emily Lane and Amonik Melaco as Princess Beauty and the Prince. The West End's biggest Christmas show, now seen by over 1,000,000 people, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with all the flair and style we've come to expect and love: full of big-budget extravaganza, innuendos, thrilling special effects, and fabulous costumes.

This festive season, don't miss your chance to catch the funniest, sauciest version of Sleeping Beauty you'll ever see.
