When a musical stacks up ten Tony Awards, including one for Best Musical, you know you're in for a treat. 2018 saw this awesomely good show smash its way into the USA's theatre-loving consciousness. Now it's due over here in the West End, set to cause a stir and delight audiences from the get-go. Don't miss this gorgeous musical theatre spectacle.

What's the plot?

You love an unusual, offbeat story that's a bit different from the rest? Tick. You love a feel-good musical? Tick. Read on, this one is special!

This fab show is set in a remote Israeli town, way off the beaten path. When a lost group of Egyptian musicians turn up out of the blue they soon fall completely under the magic spell of the wonderful desert sky. When the band starts to play and their lovely music fills the air, the town comes to new life in lots of magical, unexpected ways, ways that stay with the townspeople forever.

The musical score is just as beautiful as the story, a feel-good marvel of a score that seduces your spirit. The show is packed with Tony-winning performances, and the sheer talent of the musicians is awe-inspiring.

We all know it... but it's good to be reminded, now and again, that music is incredibly powerful. Music makes us laugh, makes us cry, and it also brings us together.

More awards, this time for the music

Tonys are not the only awards this amazing show has attracted. We said the music and lyrics were extraordinary? This proves it. The score, by David Yasbek, was a 2019 Grammy Awards winner for Best Musical Theater Album, and the album is available via the show's official website. As the New York Times says, The uncanny virtuosity of Mr. Yazbek’s score feels as essential as oxygen!”
