Based on the powerful memoir by E.R Braithwaite, To Sir With Love is the story of former RAF pilot Rick Braithwaite, who takes a job as a teacher at an inner city school in London. Faced with deep-rooted prejudices, Rick takes on the challenge of inspiring his class of disillusioned, troubled students. Through empathy and hope, he aims to prepare them not just for exams, but for life.
Now, sixty years later, this beloved story comes to life as a special concert performance at Gillian Lynne Theatre. Directed by Sheldon Epps, the show features the timeless title song 'To Sir, with Love', along with an original score by John Farrar and Kara DioGuardi. American television and stage star Wayne Brady (How I Met Your Mother, Moulin Rouge!) stars as Rick Braithwaite, and British music icon Lulu returns nearly six decades after her screen debut alongside Sydney Poitier in the 1967 film adaptation. With soaring music, powerful themes, and a heartwarming story that’s just as relevant today, this will truly be an unforgettable experience.
