Broken Glass in London

Brooklyn, 1938: Sylvia Gellburg reads about the atrocities committed against Jewish people in Nazi Germany, overlooked and ignored by the rest of the world. As a reaction, she suddenly wakes up paralysed from the waist down. Her husband Philip thinks it's all in her head. Her new doctor, Dr Hyman, meanwhile, thinks it's psychosomatic and begins treating her, bringing to the surface the problems in her marriage as the two grow closer.

A rarely performed play by the great Arthur Miller, Broken Glass returns to the London stage, coming to the Young Vic for the first time, directed by Jordan Fein (Fiddler on the Roof). Bold, passionate, and heartrending, this story about the dangers of disconnecting with the realities of our world is just as resonant and relevant today as it was when it was first written.

Book now to experience this heartbreakingly poignant and emotionally resonant play by a master storyteller.

Absorbing, courageous

Be prepared to be surprised and troubled. History almost repeating itself. Arthur Miller never disappoints.

This play should be compulsory viewing for university students

Apart from the lighting I thought it was an excellent production . I think reading a synopsis of this play prior to seeing this production should be suggested . It was a very challenging play .

Very well acted and sometimes amusing

Even though it was set in the US in about 1939 it was still relevant for today with all the political issues.

Arthur Miller play

This was Arthur Miller at his towering best. A play I had not seen before and one of his later ones, which I found interesting, but all the amazing human condition themes were there explored through fresh eyes
