A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story in London
Mark Gatiss' "Irresistibly theatrical" (Daily Telegraph) A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story returns to the Alexandra Palace stage following its critically acclaimed run in 2023. In this marvellous retelling of Charles Dickens’ beloved winter ghost story, Ebenezer Scrooge is whisked away on a terrifying and transformational journey by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. He finally understands he has to change his mealy-mouthed, miserable ways. If he doesn’t, he’s in for eternal misery just like his mean-spirited old friend Jacob Marley.
This spellbinding production of one of the most beloved Christmas stories ever told returns to the London stage this festive season. Blending heartwarming moments with a touch of fright, moral lessons with a happy ending, it promises an unforgettable theatrical experience for the whole family in the lead-up to Christmas.

Good entertainmentWe did not hear all that was said and some spoke too quickly. The use of microphones could have been better. It was difficult to pick up the storyline if one did not know it.

Absorbing, bit spooky but heart warmingLoved the show from the set design to quality of acting. Mark Gatiss was enthralling as Scrooge. Left the theatre in a real feel-good and festive mood.

A Christmas Carol worth Singing AboutThe Alexandra Palace theatre is the perfect venue for this wonderful spooky production. The set is fantastically atmospheric and mobile. The cast are great, all the actors apart from Scrooge playing multi characters. Neil Morrissey was particularly good as Marleys Ghost bringing the anguish and torment and fear of a man chained up for eternity. It's a lively, engaging show for anyone who wants a bit of Christmas (spooky) Sprit

Lovely festive showCame to watch the show with my grandparents. Was a lovely evening out with them. The Christmas Carol by Charles dickens is such an iconic story and the actors definitely did the novella justice in this stage production. 10/10 would recommend for this Christmas time.

Fabulous christmas showYou feel the atmosphere of Charles Dickens’ charol. The Alexandra Palace is the right place for this show. For me, the only negative point, if we can say négative, is that the sound was very strong. Anyway, it is a wonderful show for the christlas season.

Ye olde English - not greatThe play is a bit slow & ponderous. The story telling isn’t great and the English is very old. Not great overall

ImpressiveI'm an italian Christmas Carol fan, I have read the book and watched the film many times and this show was absolutely excellent to me. I guess it was not easy at all to set up some scenes, still everything has been impressive and creative and really in line with the original story. Well done, highly recommended :)
