Entertaining Mr Sloane in London

Lonely landlady Kath rents out a room in the family home to the mysterious Mr Sloane. Her brother Ed disapproves, but soon both siblings find themselves charmed by the charismatic and handsome stranger. Meanwhile, their ageing father grows increasingly suspicious, convinced he has seen Sloane before.

Nadia Fall (Equus) directs this revival of Joe Orton’s darkly comedic cult classic as part of her first season as Artistic Director of the Young Vic. Starring Tamzin Outhwaite (Abigail’s Party, The Wives) and Daniel Cerqueira (A Gentleman in Moscow) as Kath and Ed, Entertaining Mr Sloane comes to the Young Vic this autumn.

As darkly seductive as Sloane himself, this 1963 classic is full of shocking twists as secrets are unearthed and lines are crossed, leaving audiences on the edges of their seats. You won’t want to miss this devilishly witty story about manipulation and lies in the seedy underbelly of suburbia
