• It blends the slasher genre with comedy in an irresistible combination that brings plenty of thrills and plenty of laughs.
• It pays homage to the genre of 90s and 2000s teen horror movies, which means it's packed with nostalgia for those of us who grew up with those films.
• It features a catchy score filled with tracks like 'Hatchet Town' and 'The Summoning', as well as reprises and motifs from other StarKid classics.

What is Nerdy Prudes Must Die about?

A ritual nobody meant to finish goes badly wrong at Hatchetfield High, and what it wakes is neither patient nor forgiving. Something supernatural now prowls the corridors, and it has drawn up a list: the swots, the prudes, the ones nobody sits with. As the bodies pile up, Grace Chasity, Stephanie Lauter and Peter Spankoffski have to stop loathing one another long enough to stay alive. This horror comedy musical is the thirteenth show by Team StarKid and the third entry in their Hatchetfield saga, which first opened in Los Angeles in 2023 before landing on YouTube.

American musical theatre company StarKid, originally founded at the University of Michigan, is best known for its hit parody of Harry Potter, A Very Potter Musical, which went viral in 2009. The company last appeared in the West End with its horror-comedy musical The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals. Nerdy Prudes Must Die is another of its cult hits, beloved by its online fanbase for a quirky concept, loveable characters and an unforgettable soundtrack, all of which poke fun at the genre with good-natured irreverence. Now London audiences will have a chance to experience it for the first time, with the original cast reuniting for the run, directed and choreographed by Lauren Lopez.

Who is in the cast?

The company that created the show in Los Angeles reunites for London: Joey Richter (Peter Spankoffski), Mariah Rose Faith Casillas (Steph Lauter), Angela Giarratana (Grace Chasity), Will Branner (Max Jägerman), Jon Matteson (Richie Lipschitz), Lauren Lopez (Ruth Fleming), Corey Dorris (Mayor Lauter), Bryce Charles (Detective Shapiro) and Kim Whalen (Miss Mulberry).

Whether you're a long-time StarKid fan or a newcomer, you don't want to miss this cheeky, hilarious riff on the teen slasher genre.
