Cast announced for Gerry & Sewell's West End transfer

The show's West End debut, following sell-out runs and rave reviews across the North East, will take place for a limited run from January.

Gerry & Sewellwill feature exciting screen names at the Aldwych Theatre, including Bill Fellows (Coronation Street) as Mr McCarten, alongside Katherine Dow Blyton (Emmerdale, ITV) as Mrs McCarten. Screen and stage star Chelsea Halfpenny (9 to 5: The Musical, Savoy Theatre) will join the cast as Claire McCarten.

Returning to the original production that played at the Laurels is Dean Logan (Coronation Street, ITV) as Gerry and BAFTA nominated Jack Robertson (Where It Ends, BBC) as Sewell, making their West End debuts. Becky Clayburn (Cinderella, Northern Stage) will return multi-rolling as Tyneside, alongside Erin Mullen (Big Ange, Live Theatre) as Bridget McCarten, and Matty Renton (Football News, Sky Sports News) as Journo.

The cast is completed by Helen Chong (Hundred Feet Tall, Old Vic Theatre), Alicia Meehan (Public Record, National Theatre), Dylan Duffy (Big Ange, Live Theatre), Patrick Ziza (The Odyssey: Episode 4 - The Island of the Sun, National Theatre) and Kyle Potter (Alice in Wonderful, New Vic Theatre) as the dancing hooligans.

Bringing together live music, puppet dogs and the magic of Wor Flags (plus the odd star cameo), Gerry & Sewell is both a love letter to Newcastle and a universal story of perseverance, loyalty and hope. It is a wild, funny and heartfelt tribute to black-and-white dreams.

Gerry & Sewell will play a limited run at the Aldwych Theatre from 13 January - 24 January 2026.
