Casting announced for the UK premiere of THE PELICOT TRIAL

Adjoa Andoh, Nicole Ansari-Cox, Lorraine Ashbourne, Leo Bill, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Alfred Enoch, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Rosie Jones, Kadiff Kirwan, Rosie O'Donnell, Tamzin Outhwaite, Jordan Stephens, Juliet Stevenson, Samuel West and Olivia Williams are among the 30 artists and public figures who will perform this one-off special event, with further casting to be announced in the coming weeks.

Milo Rau and Servane Dècle’s new piece of documentary theatre will explore the harrowing true events of Gisele Pelicot's rape trial, using testimonies and written accounts from the trial, police files, social commentary and psychiatric reports of the 51 men who were prosecuted. Performed by a company of 30 actors and public figures, it will play at The Chamber at London County Hall, home of Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution.

Gisele Pelicot is a French woman who was drugged and raped multiple times between 2011 and 2020 by her husband Dominique and dozens of other men while unconscious. She became a a symbol of resilience and the fight against sexual violence when she waived her right to anonymity during her highly public rape trial in 2024.

The play, which was developed in collaboration with journalists, anthropologues, and local feminist organisations in France, received its world premiere at the Vienna Festival on 18 June 2025 and has since toured internationally.

The Pelicot Trial will also be live streamed world-wide for the duration of the performance to ensure as many people as possible can access it. The live-stream will be free to access via the Young Vic Youtube channel for the duration of the performance.

The Pelicot Trial will be staged as a one-off live performance on Monday 30 November from 6-10pm at The Chamber at London County Hall.
