The UK premiere of the translation by award-winning poet Anne Carson will be revived for the first time in over a decade!
The cast of Elektra at Duke of York's Theatre
Further cast has been announced for Elektra.
Directed by Daniel Fish, joining the previously announced Brie Larson will be internationally renowned Stockard Channing (The West Wing), Marième Diouf (Romeo and Juliet, The Globe), Greg Hicks (Coriolanus, The Old Vic) and Patrick Vaill (Stranger Things: The First Shadow).
Sophocles' electrifying play follows Electra, who seeks revenge on her mother, Clytemnestra, and her lover, Aegisthus, for the murder of her father, Agamemnon. With the return of her brother, Orestes, they conspire to avenge their father's death by killing the murderers.
Joining Daniel on the creative team are Annie-B Parson (Choreography), Jeremy Herbert (Set Design), Doey Lüthi (Costume Design), Adam Silverman (Lighting Design), Max & Ben Ringham (Sound Design), Ted Hearne (Composer) Kate Godfrey (Voice & Dialect) with casting by Heather Basten CDG.
Elektra will run for a strictly limited 11-week season at the Duke of York's Theatre from 24 January 2025. It follows Barcelona which stars Lily Collins and Álvaro Morte.
