I'm Sorry, Prime Minister will make the first West End transfer for the Barn Theatre early next year.
Griff Rhys Jones will star as ex-Prime Minister Jim Hacker. As one of Britain's favourite entertainers, Griff is perhaps best known for his comedy sketch work on the BBC, regularly appearing in Not The Nine O’Clock News and the iconic Alas Smith and Jones.
Clive Francis will reprise the role of Sir Humphry Appleby. Clive has appeared in a wealth of television, films and theatre productions over the years and recently adapted a range of show productions including The Small Hand, The Hound of the Baskervilles and Alice The Musical!
Created by BAFTA Award-winning writer Jonathan Lynn, co-creator of Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister, this acclaimed British comedy series originally aired from 1980 to 1984 and again from 1986 to 1988. A sharp and witty political satire, it follows Jim Hacker, a government official hoping for a quiet retirement as the head of Hacker College, Oxford. But instead of peace, Hacker finds himself facing the ultimate modern crisis...
I'm Sorry, Prime Minister will be as funny as ever when it arrives at the West End's Apollo Theatre from 30 January to 25 April 2025. It will follow Christmas Carol Goes Wrong which plays from 5 December to 26 January.
