Off-West End Production and Casting News 3WOMEN by comedian Katy Brand is currently playing at Trafalgar studios and critics are either embracing or rejecting its feel good sit-com charms.

The story is set in a posh hotel room and you’ll meet the bride to be, her mother and her daughter who, predictably, engage in prosecco fuelled exchanges that reveal family secrets and intergeneration conflict.

The story is set in a posh hotel room and you’ll meet the bride to be, her mother and her daughter who, predictably, engage in prosecco fuelled exchanges that reveal family secrets and intergeneration conflict.

The consensus seems to be that the dialogue is genuinely funny and the production benefits from sharp performances from former EastEnders star Anita Dobson, the always wonderful, Debbie Chazen and comparative newcomer, Maisie Richardson.

The musical HEATHERS, which formally had a successful Off-Broadway run and has been further developed at London’s Other Palace will receive a full production there for 8 weeks from June 9th.

It will star singer-songwriter Carrie Hope Fletcher who also has plenty of musical theatre experience alongside West End regulars Jamie Muscato, Jodie Steele, Sophie Isaacs, T'Shan Williams, Chris Chung, Jenny O'Leary, Rebecca Lock, Dominic Anderson, Edward Baruwa with an ensemble of Alex James-Hatton, Charlotte Jaconelli, Lauren Drew, Sergio Pasquariello and Olivia Moore.

Producers describe it as “a musical about a teenage misfit who gets taken under the wings of three beautiful people called the Heathers who aid her dreams of popularity in a bloodthirsty way” and remind us that “ It is based on the 1988 cult movie that starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.

There’s direction from Andy Fickman, choreography by Gary Lloyd, design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Dan Samson and it was by Will Burton.

Heathers The Musical


Producers have announced that the Broadway Jukebox musical ON YOUR FEET!, based on the music of 26-time Grammy Award winners Gloria and Emilio Estefan, will come to the West End next year.

It will play limited season at London's Coliseum from 14 June 2019, after completing seven performances at Curve, Leicester.

We’re told “it’s based on the life of one of the most successful Latin crossover acts in American music, On Your Feet! follows the Estefans' rise to fame from their childhood in Cuba, living on the streets of Miami and through to global superstardom”

Expect Estefan hits like "Rhythm is Gonna Get You", "Conga", "Get On Your Feet", "Don't Want To Lose You Now" and "1-2-3".

As in new York, where it was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Choreography and ran for two years before closing in 2017, it will be directed by Broadway royalty Jerry Mitchell who also staged KINKY BOOTS & HAIRSPRAY. The choreography is by Olivier Award-winner Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys).

On Your Feet!


U.S. actor Wade McCollum has appeared in WICKED on Broadway as well as PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT and HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH and he’ll now star in the world premiere of IT HAPPENED IN KEY WEST, which opens at the Charing Cross Theatre in July.

He’ll play “an eccentric scientist who digs up the body of his dead beloved in an attempt to bring her back to life” Further casting is to be announced.

It Happened in Key West has a book, music and lyrics by Jill Santoriello (A Tale of Two Cities), book and additional lyrics by Jason Huza and book and original concept by Jeremiah James.

It will be directed and choreographed by Marc Robin, with designs by Jamie Roderick, sound by Andrew Johnson, costume by Lisa Zinni, musical direction by Andrew Hopkins, orchestrations by Robert Felstein, and casting by Neil Rutherford.
