The musical, which made its debut in Canada back in 2009, has received multiple runs across the globe from Off-Broadway in 2016 to Sydney in 2024. The London production, which kicks off next month, broke the venue's record of most tickets sold within 24 hours after going on sale.
The cast for Ride the Cyclone includes Edward Wu (Kim’s Convenience, Riverside Studios) as The Amazing Karnak, with Baylie Carson (SIX, West End) as Ocean, Grace Galloway (Priscilla The Party) as Jane Doe, Robyn Gilbertson (making her professional debut) as Constance, Damon Gould (Cabaret, West End) as Noel, Bartek Kraszewski (making his professional debut) as Mischa and Jack Maverick(making his professional debut) as Ricky. The cast is completed by Nathaniel Purnell (Shucked, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre) and Rebecca D’Lacey (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, European Tour).
Ride the Cyclone is a dark comedy story that follows six teenagers who die on a roller coaster and are then offered a chance to live again. One by one, the teenagers step into the spotlight and prove why they deserve a second chance at life. Ride the Cyclone will take audiences on a genre-defying journey through big dreams, dark secrets, and the search for what makes a life well-lived.
The show will be directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee with musical direction by Ben McQuigg, set and costume design by Ryan Dawson Laight, lighting design by Tim Deiling, video design by Nina Dunn for PixelLux, sound design by Tom Marshall and casting by Harry Blumenau. Production Management is by Toby P Darvill for Production Solutions Group, with General Management by Jack Maple Productions.
Ride The Cyclone will play at the Southwark Playhouse Elephant from 14 November 2025 to 10 January 2026.
