Full cast announced for WHEN WE ARE MARRIED at Donmar Warehouse

With Kip Williams' new version of The Maids currently playing at the theatre (read our review here), the full cast has been announced for Tim Sheader's revival of When We Are Married by J.B. Priestley.

Joining the previously announced Siobhan Finneran, Samantha Spiro, Sophie Thompson and Marc Wootton are Tori Allen-Martin (Midnight Cowboy, Southwark Playhouse) as Lottie Grady, Ron Cook (Twelfth Night, Wyndham's Theatre) as Henry Ormonroyd, Janice Connolly (Glitter Ball, Riverside Studios) as Mrs Northrop, John Hodgkinson (Titus Andronicus, RSC) as Joseph Helliwell, Jim Howick (Inside No. 9 Stage/Fright, Wyndham's Theatre) as Herbert Soppitt, Reuben Joseph (Mrs Warren's Profession, Garrick Theatre) as Gerald Forbes, Rowan Robinson (A Taste of Honey, Royal Exchange Manchester) as Nancy Holmes and Leo Wringer (Quiz, Chichester Festival Theatre and UK Tour) as Reverend Clement Mercer.

Described as "A Yorkshire farcical comedy", When We Are Married is a much-loved comedy by J.B. Priestley that last played in London in 1939. It follows three couples who are highly respected pillars of the Yorkshire community and are gathering to celebrate their joint silver wedding anniversaries; however, they discover they weren't legally married.

As scandal turns to farce, the couples are forced to confront long-buried truths, simmering resentments and the liberating possibility of starting over.

Director Tim Sheader is joined on the creative team by set designer Peter McKintosh, costume designer Anna Fleischle, lighting designer Ryan Day, sound designer Fergus O'Hare, composer Will Stuart, voice coach Barbara Houseman, dialect coach Natalie Grady, casting director Lotte Hines CDG, resident assistant director Ewa Dina, assistant set designer Raphaé Memon, assistant costume designer Roisin Gearty, and assistant lighting designer Harriet White.

When We Are Married will play at the Donmar Warehouse from 6 December 2025 to 7 February 2026.
