Pinocchio - Globe in London
Inspired by the children’s book by Carlo Collodi, Pinocchio is the story of a wooden puppet brought to life by woodcarver and restless wanderer Geppetto. Together, Pinocchio and Geppetto embark on a series of adventures, encountering many weird and wonderful characters, and learning about freedom and family, and the true meaning of what makes you human.
This is a moving, funny musical with book and lyrics by Charlie Josephine (I, Joan , Cowbois), and music and lyrics by Jim Fortune (Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear , Hex), directed by Globe Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes (Romeo and Juliet, The Merry Wives of Windsor). It’s a perfect Christmas show for the whole family, bringing a fresh, original take on a beloved story full of whimsy and magic, with powerful lessons about family and community.
