Sylvia chronicles the story of feminist and socialist activist Sylvia Pankhurst, daughter of Emmeline Pankhurst. Building up to her eventual split with her mother's activism, the musical takes us from Sylvia's painful childhood and the loss of her father and brother, to her struggle to hold true to her pacifism in light of misogynist threats and police brutality, and her reluctance to break bread with Churchill's government. Loyalty, love, and revolution all clash in this powerful epic about an incredible life.

Sylvia features a book and lyrics by Kate Prince (ZooNation) and Priya Parmar, with music by Josh Cohen and DJ Walde. It first premiered in London to resounding praise, called ‘tremendously fun' by WhatsOnStage, while the Guardian declared: ‘This witty, high-voltage musical just might be the next Hamilton'. Like Hamilton, Sylvia offers audiences a fresh, thrilling look an iconic period in history, told through complex, very human characters, and soul-stirring music. This Olivier Award-winning musical features an electrifying soundtrack that fuses hip hop, funk, and soul. It stars Naomi Katiyo (Hamilton, Just For One Day: The Live Aid Musical) as Sylvia, with powerhouse talent Beverley Knight (Sister Act, The Drifters Girl, Memphis The Musical) reprising her Olivier Award-winning role as Emmeline Pankhurst.

If you loved Hamilton and the idea of history told through hip-hop, don't miss this equally powerful and clever musical about a British feminist icon.
