The Rise and Fall Of Little Voice in London
The reclusive Laura Hoff is known as Little Voice for her sweet, child-like voice. Escaping reality, Little Voice sings in the sanctuary of her small bedroom, performing enchanting renditions of her beloved and late father's prized record collection of the great divas, from Judy Garland to Billie Holiday. But when her mother Mari's new fling, local wheeler dealer Ray, hears her sing, he forces her into a spotlight she never asked for.
Francesca Mills (Silent Witness) stars in this new production of acclaimed British dramatist Jim Cartwright’s modern classic, directed by National Theatre Deputy Artistic Director Robert Hastie (Standing at the Sky’s Edge). Jill Halfpenny (The Long Shadow, ITV) plays Mari and Paul Chuckle (The Madam Blanc Mysteries, Channel 5) plays Mr Boo. First written in 1992, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice has been revived multiple times and adapted into a 1998 film, enchanting audiences with its powerful story about finding your voice, the perils of fame, and the exploitation of stardom.
Don’t miss this heartrending, one-of-a-kind story with an utterly unique heroine you’ll fall in love with.
