A Mirrored Monet in London
Paris, 1916: Claude Monet is struggling to complete the painting that will define his career and legacy, The Water Lillies. As the First World War approaches, his survival depends on his ability to complete the project. Plagued by a creative block, he finds himself lost in memories of the past, particularly his early days as a young artist alongside contemporaries Renoir and Manet, and his muse, Camille Doncieux. A Mirrored Monet is inspired by Monet’s own diaries and letters, as well as those of his peers, making it both a historical play as well as a soulful exploration of one of the greatest artistic minds of the 20th century.
This dramatic, emotional musical is written by composer, lyricist and dramatist Carmel Owen (Asylum: The Strange Case of Mary Lincoln), and directed by Christian Durham (Waiting for Godot, Fly More Than You Fall). Award-winning actor Jeff Shankley (Starlight Express, Cats) and Dean John-Wilson (Your Lie in April: The Musical, Aladdin) will share the role of Monet, playing the older and younger versions of himself respectively, as the musical charts out his story over different points of his life. Jaw-dropping music and projections will immerse audiences into the cafes and saloons of Belle Epoque Paris in all its art and romance. Art enthusiasts and lovers of Impressionism will fall in love with this thoughtful, beautiful tribute to one of the greatest painters of the Impressionist movement.
Book now and don’t miss this lyrical, moving new musical about the passage of time and a love for art.

Wonderful story about MonetA wonderful play, all about priorities in life and a lot more. Don’t go for the singing even though I really enjoyed it, go for the story line. A moral lesson to us all about putting priorities right, about regrets in life and what could have done differently if only … but also about how difficult it is to be an artist …. A lovely theatre with comfy seats, with a great location. Thank you for a great play !

Beautiful to watch but limited as dramaThe video projection and excellent acting were the stars of this ambitious show. Sadly the script was wooden and the songs forgettable. It’s a lovely threat to watch it in and there are genuinely moving moments but those songs. - 25 of them - get in the way of genuine drama
