What is Legally Blonde about?

Bubbly blonde fashionista, sorority socialite, and homecoming queen Elle Woods thinks she has it all, but she gets a nasty shock when her boyfriend Warner breaks up with her instead of proposing. His reasoning? He needs a 'Jackie', not a 'Marilyn'. Elle decides to follow him to Harvard Law School, where she's constantly underestimated by everyone because of her appearance. But as she sets off to prove her worth to Warner, her professors, and herself, she realises she might want something different from life after all.

Based on the beloved 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon, which also inspired a sequel, a spin-off, and a prequel series focused on a young Elle, the musical premiered on Broadway in 2007. It features music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, with a book by Heather Hach. Fresh off a sold-out UK and Ireland tour, the production now heads to London, directed by Curve artistic director Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Leah Hill, with Amber Davies (Pretty Woman, 9-5 The Musical, Strictly Come Dancing finalist) reprising her iconic role as the fabulous, irresistible Elle Woods. It captures all the feel-good buzz, charming humour, and uplifting themes of the rom-com we know and love, plus a soundtrack of truly catchy songs.

If you loved the film, you're sure to fall in love with Elle Woods all over again, this time onstage.
