Lifeline intertwines the story of Alexander Fleming's life-saving discovery of penicillin in 1928 with the present-day story of Jess, a doctor whose childhood sweetheart Aaron is fighting for his life after developing an antimicrobial resistance infection. First performed at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe festival under the title The Mould That Changed the World, the musical acts as a warning to the medical dangers faced in a world corrupted by the misuse of antibiotics, told through music and song. It's a searing commentary on the changing face of modern medicine and a tribute to healthcare workers.

Written by Becky Hope-Palmer and Robin Hiley, this bold new musical earned critical acclaim during its runs at Edinburgh Fringe and off-Broadway and even performed on the floor of the United Nations.
