Mike Leigh's unmissable tragicomic portrait of social class, materialism, and sexual tension in 1970s England heads to the theatre this Autumn.

The cast and creative team have been announced for Abigail's Party which begins performances at the Stratford East Theatre from 06 September 2024.
Directed by Nadia Fall, the cast includes Tamzin Outhwaite (Noises Off, Theatre Royal Haymarket) as Beverly, Kevin Bishop (The Kevin Bishop Show) as Laurence, Pandora Colin (Dear Octopus, National Theatre) as Susan, Omar Malik (My Beautiful Laundrette, Leicester Curve/Leeds Playhouse) as Tony and Ashna Rabheru (Favour, Bush Theatre) as Angela.
The creative team is completed by Set & Costume Designer: Peter McKintosh; Lighting Designer: Howard Harrison; Sound Designer: Alexandra Faye Braithwaite; Movement Director: James Cousins; Casting Director: Amy Ball CDG; Assistant Director Lily Dyble; Costume Supervisor: Mary Charlton; Props Supervisor: Lizzie Frankl and Edie Fitt-Martin for Propworks London.
A dark comedy, Abigail's Party explores the social dynamics and pretensions of suburban middle-class life. The plot revolves around a cocktail party hosted by the brash and domineering Beverly, where tensions simmer and social facades crumble among the guests. As the evening progresses, the characters' insecurities and hidden conflicts come to the forefront, leading to a climactic and dramatic conclusion.
