Yerin Ha (Bridgerton), Phia Saban (Oedipus, Wyndham's Theatre) and Lydia Wilson (The 47th, Old Vic) will star in The Maids. The production is a compelling, timely parable of modern identity and the destructive desire to both emulate and annihilate those we idolise.
Written by the French playwright, poet and novelist, The Maids follows two sisters who work as maids for a wealthy Madame. In Madame’s absence, they obsessively role-play her murder, until performance and reality begin to blur.
The Maids will mark Williams' Donmar debut this Autumn, following the critically acclaimed Olivier and Tony Award-winning reimagining of The Picture of Dorian Gray at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. He will also adapt Dracula, starring Cynthia Erivo, next year at the Noel Coward Theatre.
The creative team formed for this production involves Set Designer: Rosanna Vize; Costume Designer: Marg Horwell; Lighting Designer: Jon Clark, Sound Designer: Dan Balfour, Composer: DJ Walde and Video Designer: Zakk Hein.
The Maids will play at the Donmar Warehouse from 13 October to 29 November 2025.
