Paul Unwin's new play is based on the true story of one of the most famous poltergeist events in the world.

Back in 1977, furniture and toys started to move of their own accord in the Hodgson's home. What was an ordinary, working-class family home changed in the space of eighteen months. Janet, the possessed sixteen-year-old was a particular focus of the events. She was nearly being pulled out of a window and was recorded growing for hours in a voice that doctors said would destroy a girl of her age's vocal chords after a few minutes.

The play centres on one night in the spring of 1978, when events were specifically reaching a climax in the home. Using first-hand accounts of one of the ghost hunters, THE ENFIELD HAUNTING will be brilliant for fans of strange happenings.

THE ENFIELD HAUNTING will perform at The Ambassadors Theatre for a limited season from 30 November 2023 until 2 March 2024.
