Troilus and Cressida follows the doomed love affair between Trojan prince Troilus and Cressida, whose loyalty wavers after she is traded to the Greek camp.

Director Owen Horsely says: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be making my Globe directorial debut with Shakespeare’s bold and dynamic take on the Trojan War. Often considered Shakespeare’s most experimental work, Troilus and Cressida unleashes a full-throttle satirical assault on romantic love, hero worship, and political power. With a brilliant cast and creative team, we’re ready to free this remarkable play from the shadows and bring its sharp wit, raw energy, and biting commentary roaring to life.”

The cast comprises Oliver Alvin-Wilson (Now, I See, Stratford East) as Hector / Calchas, Tilly Botsford (The Welkin, Atlantic Theatre) as Ensemble / Cover, David Caves (Silent Witness, BBC) as Achilles, Conor Glean (Romeo and Juliet, Manchester Royal Exchange) as Diomedes, Kasper Hilton-Hille (Dealer's Choice, Donmar Warehouse) as Troilus, Jonathan Livingstone (Hamlet, Young Vic) as Agamemnon, Tadeo Martinez (Hamlet, RSC) as Patroclus / Alexander, Lucy McCormick (Titus Andronicus, Shakespeare's Globe) as Thersites / Helen, Jodie McNee (Minority Report, Lyric Hammersmith / Birmingham Rep / Nottingham Playhouse)as Ulysses / Cassadra, Charlotte O’Leary (Jerusalem, Royal Court) as Cressida, Finn O’Riordain (Julius Caesar, Factory Theatre)as Ensemble / Cover, Matthew Spencer (Twelfth Night, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre) as Paris / Menelaus, Samantha Spiro (The Merry Wives of Windsor, RSC) as Pandarus / Nestor, and Ibraheem Toure (Twelfth Night, RSC tour) as Ajax.
