Kedar Williams-Stirling (Sex Education) plays Bilal, Emeka Sesay (The Power) plays Joey and Francis Lovehall (Small Axe, A Thousand Blows) plays Omz. The story is a blinder, exploring what happens when the football pitch you’ve played on for a lifetime, laughed, battled, and made lifelong friendships on is about to be demolished. Will three close friends be able to carry their dreams of stardom onwards, or will the whole thing become a tragic own-goal?

The action is both fast-paced and sharp-edged, and the story itself is perfectly crafted, acted with impressive empathy as well as directed beautifully. This is a genuinely powerful story, packed with joy, and the playwriting has been praised as smart and sophisticated. Shem Hamilton is the Understudy for Joe and Bilal, and Toyin Omari-Kinch is the Understudy for Omz and Bilal. The Red Pitch creative team features Writer Tyrell Williams and Director Daniel Bailey. Amelia Jane Hankin is the Set and Costume Designer, Ali Hunter is the Lighting Designer and Khalil Madovi is the Sound Designer/Composer.

Dickson Mbi is the Original Movement Director and Gabrielle Nimo the Movement Director, with Heather Basten CDG as the Casting Director and Kev McCurdy as the Fight Director. Gurkiran Kaur is the Vocal Coach and Aaron Samuel and Abdul Kamara are the Football Consultants.
