Wendy & Peter Pan in London
Experience Neverland as you’ve never seen it before in Ella Hickson's bold new reimagining of J M Barrie’s Peter Pan, directed by Jonathan Munby. This version puts Wendy Darling - clever, imaginative, and afraid of growing up - at the forefront, as she journeys to Neverland to find the key to her parents’ forgotten happiness. There, she teams up with the capricious fairy Tinkerbell, the princess Tiger Lily, and of course, Peter Pan, while battling against the scheming Captain Hook.
This family-friendly show originally premiered in 2013 as part of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre's Christmas season in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Now it comes to the West End just in time for the festive season. A breathtaking set design by Colin Richmond will plunge you straight into the breathtaking world of Neverland, full of Lost Boys, mermaids, and pirates. Toby Stephens plays Captain Hook, stepping into the shoes of yet another notorious pirate after playing Captain Flint in Black Sails.
What does it mean to grow up? Find out in this whimsical, magical coming of age story that puts a new spin on a beloved story.

Great family showThis show is for everyone who likes the Peter Pan story. It has a slightly different angle to the story, but contains all the loved elements. The acting was very good and I just loved the idea around Peter's shadow.

Review: WENDY AND PETER PAN at Barbican
by Stuart King | Wednesday, October 29 2025, 15:06
Christmas is almost upon us, and the usual rag-tag of festive-themed shows are in the process of opening. Along with the London Palladium’s glitzy annual comedy panto helmed as ever by Julian Clary, this year there are a number of other big bashes ranged around the capital, not least, the hotly anticipated RSC revisionist take on Peter Pan at the Barbican. So how fares Wendy and Peter Pan with its deliberate top billing reserved for the lead female character?

Review Round-Up: WENDY AND PETER PAN at Barbican
by Shehrazade Zafar-Arif | Wednesday, October 29 2025, 08:31
Reviews are coming in from London’s theatre critics about Wendy & Peter Pan at the Barbican, and the overall response is resoundingly lukewarm. While critics were full of praise for the set design and special effects, many found its feminist take on Peter Pan a bit lackluster, and were disappointed by some of the anachronistic references.
