Body & Soul in London
In the UK premiere of Body and Soul, Crystal Pite and Kameron N Saunders present two powerful works that explore the core of the human experience. This hypnotic, stirring performance features a mix of intimate dance routines and spoken word performance and narration. Pite's Body and Soul (Part 1) explores bereavement, featuring two dancers in funereal black suits, while Saunders presents a new work in three parts about finding your authentic self under crushing societal scrutiny, inspired by his personal experiences.
Acclaimed choreographer Crystal Pite, who previously presented works such as Revisor, Emergence, and Figures in Extinction at Sadler's Wells, originally created Body and Soul for Paris Opera Ballet. Dancer Kameron N Saunders has performed with some of the world's biggest artists, including Taylor Swift and Chappel Roan, and has choreographed prize-winning pieces for Joffrey Ballet and Dallas Black Dance Theatre. Harold Walker III and Brandon Finklea compose a new score, performed by English National Ballet Philharmonic, to accompany this powerful, harrowing duet performance that blends multiple forms to create unforgettable storytelling experiences.
Book now and get ready for a truly unforgettable evening that mixes dance, spoken word, and storytelling to take you right to the heart of the human experience.
