Beautiful Little Fool at Southwark Playhouse Borough - Production images released

Beautiful Little Fool is a new musical that tells the story of Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald through the eyes of their daughter Scottie, as she rediscovers the lives and writings of her brilliant and tempestuous parents.

With music and lyrics by Hannah Corneau and a book by Mona Mansour, the World Premiere at the Southwark Playhouse in Borough comes after the musical was originally commissioned in 2022 through the developmental theatre lab New Works Provincetown.

A full concept album for Beautiful Little Fool was recently released, featuring Jessie Mueller, Ryan Vasquez, and Hannah Corneau.

David Hunter stars as (Waitress The Musical) 'F.Scott' alongside Lauren Ward (Matilda) as ‘Scottie’, Hannah Corneau (Wicked) as ‘Zelda’, David Austin-Barnes (Book of Mormon, US tour) as ensemble / cover ‘F.Scott’, Amy Parker (Ride, Charing Cross Theatre) as Ensemble/cover ‘Scottie’ and ‘Zelda’, and Jasmine Hackett (Muriel’s Wedding, Leicester Curve) as swing.

The creative team features orchestrations by Adam Rothenberg, musical direction by Jerome van den Berghe, set design by Shankho Chaudhuri, costume design by Laura Hopkins, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Domnic Bilkey, with Harry Blumenau on casting direction.

Beautiful Little Fool plays at the Southwark Playhouse Borough until 28 February 2026.
