Four brilliant new West End shows

First let’s look at four brand new shows set to arrive in theatreland to delight you.

Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons is on at the Harold Pinter Theatre, starring Jenna Coleman, who thrilled audiences in The Serpent, All My Sons, and TV’s Victoria, plus Aidan Turner who starred in TV’s Poldark, and The Lieutenant of Inishmore. The show is on stage from 18th January to 18th March 2023, before moving to the Manchester Opera House from 21st to 25th March 2023 and the Theatre Royal Brighton from 28th March to 1st April 2023. The story? What if the government laid down a new law allowing you to speak just 140 words a day? Could your relationship survive? It’s a funny play with a very frightening edge.

Mrs. Doubtfire London The movie Mrs Doubtfire made millions laugh thanks to the antics of the wonderful Robin Williams. Now there’s a musical theatre version in the pipeline, due at the Shaftesbury Theatre from Friday 12th May 2023 and the perfect way to welcome spring to London with a grin. Gabriel Vick, of Avenue Q fame, will star in the show along with Carla Dixon-Hernandez and a glittering cast. The fun will be directed by the 4 time Tony award winner Jerry Zaks. The original music and lyrics are by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, and the book is by Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell.

Patriots - Play Patriots takes to the stage at the Noel Coward Theatre from Monday 26th June 2023, fresh from the creator of the Netflix smash hit, The Crown. The plot? There’s a new dawn in Russia and the old Soviet Union is gone. Who wins and who loses, who’s a patriot and who is a traitor? It’s complicated. When a new gang of young oligarchs begins fighting for control, can the billionaire businessman Boris Berezovsky keep his place in the president’s inner circle or will he end up as public enemy number one? Peter Morgan’s explosive story is beautifully directed by Rupert Goold.

Winnie the Pooh the Musical Winnie The Pooh is on at Riverside Studios, officially opening on 26th March 2023. It’s a new musical stage adaptation and it has broken box office records as Riverside Studios' biggest on-sale. Grown ups and children alike love the story, a fresh tale told with impressive life-size puppetry, starring the iconic characters we all know and love. Created and directed by Jonathan Rockefeller, it features music by The Sherman Brothers and extra songs by A.A. Milne. Jake Bazel plays Winnie himself, a role he originated on Broadway.
