Sonia Friedman Productions has been busy, busy, busy while the nation has been locked down, producing three deliciously contemporary new plays to thrill audiences at the Harold Pinter theatre. The fun kicks off in May and each of the three new productions comes with loads of glittering star quality built in. Are you ready to re:emerge?
What's the plot of Walden?
Walden is brilliant. After returning from a 12 month mission to the moon, NASA botanist Cassie meets up with her estranged sister, Stella, who used to be a NASA architect. They get together in a remote woodland cabin, where she lives with the climate activist Bryan, but as the sisters try to repair their relationship, which was damaged by rivalry, the same old wounds resurface.
Walden is a sizzlingly clever debut play by Amy Berryman, directed by Ian Rickson who wowed us with Jerusalem and Uncle Vanya. It stars the wonderful Gemma Arterton from Quantum of Solace, Fehinti Balogun from Juliet, Naked and Lydia Wilson of The Duchess of Malfi.
Who is Walden for?
All three plays are beautifully thought-out adult pieces, not suitable for children.
