Wayne McGregor: Alchemies - Royal Ballet and Opera Tickets

Sir Wayne McGregor is one of the trailblazers of 21st century dance. As Resident Choreographer of The Royal Ballet, his works, ranging from single act to full-length, have ceaselessly pushed the boundaries of ballet, drawing influence from literature, fine art, science and technology, in collaboration with other creatives. Now, with the world premiere of Alchemies, is your chance to experience McGregor's choreography in all its glory, with a series of collaborations, adaptations, and breath-taking performances that will stir your imagination and wonder.

This genre-defying programme features three works in harmonious tandem. Yugen is McGregor's tribute to 20th century American composer Leonard Bernstein, inspired by his Chichester Psalms, and created for The Royal Ballet's Bernstein Centenary celebrations in 2018 in collaboration with artist Edmund de Waal, fashion designer Shirin Guild and lighting designer Lucy Carter. Untitled, 2023 was inspired by the late minimalist artist Carmen Herrera, who created her first and only stage designs for this piece, and McGregor brought this stirring performance to life with Anna Thorvalsdottir's devastating score, Lucy Carter's sculptural lighting, and costuming by Burberry. Finally, the programme will feature the world premiere of an exclusive and enticing new ballet by McGregor himself.
