As 2018 prepared to shuffle off its mortal coil, I sat musing on the state of the London theatre scene over the past 12 months and found plenty to praise - even with the ever-looming doom and gloom of Brexit and increasing xenophobia (both of which, perhaps unsurprisingly managed to find their way into productions). Much new writing was enjoyed by audiences around the capital, despite the seemingly prohibitive economic realities of producing and staging new work.


Musical SIX goes from Strength to Strength

First, new musical SIX took the Edinburgh Festival and the West End by storm, now we hear tracks from the studio cast recording have hit 40,000 streams a day, reaching over 3.5 million in total.
If you haven’t seen it yet, and I must confess, I haven’t, the producers describe it as “a concert-style show with a phenomenal all-female band”.
