Ian McKellen to star in a new version of Shakespeare's HENRY IV

Adapted by Robert Icke, this new version will bring together Henry VI, Parts 1 and 2 in one production which heads to the West End for a limited season next year.

'One of the world's greatest actors' (Times), Ian McKellen will play Falstaff in a new version of Shakespeare's Henry IV.
PLAYER KINGS, adapted by award-winning writer and director Robert Icke will fuse both parts of two great history plays into one production for a limited season next year.
The production will run at the Noël Coward Theatre from 1 April - 22 June 2024 with previews taking place beforehand at the New Wimbledon Theatre between 1 - 9 March 2024 and the Manchester Opera House, 14 -23 March 2024.
Further casting is to be announced.

A divided country, leadership crumbling, corruption in the air. Welcome to England.
Hal wasn't born to be king. But now it seems he will be. His father longs for him to leave behind all of his friends in the taverns of Eastcheap, most notably the infamous John Falstaff. But war is on the horizon and will Hal ever come good?

PLAYER KINGS will open with previews at the New Wimbledon Theatre from 1-9 March 2024 before twelve weeks in the West End at the Noël Coward Theatre from 1 April - 22 June 2024.
