Last year we said goodbye to Stranger Things when the hit Netflix show aired its fifth and final season, and this year the critically acclaimed stage show will finish its run on 27 December 2026 after three years. Stranger Things: The First Shadow is a prequel set in Hawkins in 1959, based on an original story by the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, which follows Henry Creel, the teenage boy who would become the villainous Vecna.

Disney’s Hercules will play its final performance on 5 September 2026, after opening last summer. Based on the 1997 Disney animated film, this family favourite musical follows the son of Zeus on his journey to becoming a hero, and features beloved songs from the original film, such as 'Go the Distance' and 'I Won't Say I'm in Love', as well as several new ones written for the musical.

The ever-popular revival of Mel Brooks’ madcap and riotously funny musical with a dark edge will end its run on 19th September 2026. It follows two producers who decide to make their fortune by fraudulently over-selling shares in a Broadway musical that has been carefully designed to fail - but which actually turns out to be a big hit. The original Broadway production opened in 2001 with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, and this current production is the first major revival since 2004.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in the West End, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a sequel to the beloved book series written by J. K. Rowling herself, which takes place nineteen years later and follows Harry’s son Albus as he joins Hogwarts and tries to find his own way outside his father's shadow. Until now, the play has run as a two-part theatrical event, but it will now shift to a one-part production with a runtime of 2 hours and 55 minutes, allowing audiences to experience the story in a single visit. Starting from 6th October 2026, this is the version of the show currently performed around the world, including on Broadway.

The fastest-selling show in the Dominion Theatre's history since it opened in December 2024, The Devil Wears Prada is the musical adaptation of the 2006 film which starred Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, in which an aspiring young journalist navigates the cutthroat world of New York fashion when she takes a job at fashion magazine Runway as assistant to its formidable and terrifying editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestley. Vanessa Williams, who originated the iconic role of Miranda when the show premiered, will be stepping down on 19 September 2026, ahead of the musical's closure in Februrary 2027.
