About As You Like It Tickets
As You Like It description
Celebrate love, transformation, and community this summer in Shakespeare’s joyous comedy, As You Like It, in the Globe Theatre from 18 August.
The Forest of Arden. Rosalind and Celia are on the run and in disguise; Orlando is pinning his impassioned attempts at poetry to branches; Oliver is seeing fantastical visions of strange beasts.
From the loyal love between family to the sudden love of strangers, and from the vicious love between enemies to the desperate love of remorse, journey into the forest as we embark on a transformative adventure. Who knows what – or who – we might find?
Following 2017’s ‘superb’ ★★★★★ (WhatsOnStage) Othello in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Director Ellen McDougall debuts in the Globe with this exuberant tale of romance and redemption.

Review: AS YOU LIKE IT at the National Theatre
by Phil Willmott | Wednesday, November 4 2015, 20:49
Shakespeare’s comedy of gender swapping lovers and philosophising in a forest is problematic for modern audiences.
Rosalind and Celia, two princess types fleeing an overbearing duke, escape with the court jester to a forest where the former and overthrown duke hangs out with his witty exiled court. They learn about love by observing the shepherds and via Rosalind disguising herself as a boy and making friends with Orlando, the man she fancies, to help him practice how to chat her up.
