Phil Willmott’s Theatre Week: At Last, a Route Out of the West End’s Lock Down

The Old Vic This week has of course been dominated by the very welcome news that UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has announced the date from which we'll be allowed to watch theatre again. It's part of his third stage of lifting Covid restrictions and is currently scheduled for 17th May (but in the Government's words "at the earliest”).

Sister Act postponed until 2022!

Sister Act The Musical Sad but necessary. Jamie Wilson and Whoopi Goldberg, the producers of Sister Act – The Musical, have announced that thanks to Covid, the West End run of the brilliant Sister Act, due on stage at the Eventim Apollo, has been rescheduled. The new run starts on 19th July 2022 and ends 28th August 2022. This means the wonderful Whoopi Goldberg won't be on stage after all, although she's still involved as a producer.
