not exciting

The cast was very good with the exception of the 2 headliners (the Blues Brothers), who were barely up to the standard of kareoke in my local pub!

Cheap

Small and half empty theatre. Poor stage set all coloured my view from the start. Singers were ok but not great. No real story and visually very poor. Hugely disappointing for a London show, not worth the price

Slightly disappointed

When arriving at the theatre we were unsure whether we were in the right places or just a cafe! There was no theatre staff directing people in the right direction and so we decided to purchase a hot drink once we knew we were at the theatre. The girl who served us didn't even know what time the show started! We then got in a queue and were unsure whether it was the line to the stalls seats or the toilets! Our seats were great (row g of the stalls) but to be honest the show was very poor compared to all other shows we've attended in the west end. The stage didn't change at all throughout the show and the music needed to be switched up slightly! All in all not very impressed and won't be recommending it to anyone!

Jake and Elwood get Festive at the Arts Theatre

by Phil Willmott | Monday, December 7 2015, 10:38

The Blues Brothers I was very disappointed that heavy traffic prevented me from attending the press night of THE BLUES BROTHERS: XMAS SPECIAL at the Arts Theatre last night. It sounds great fun.

THE BLUES BROTHERS of course was a 1980 American musical crime comedy film directed by John Landis. It stared John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as "Joliet" Jake and Elwood Blues, characters developed from "The Blues Brothers" musical sketch on the NBC variety series SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.
