Hadestown in London
Step into the enchanting world of Hadestown, back in London five years after its sold-out run at the National Theatre in 2018. Ancient mythology meets modern storytelling in this Tony Award-winning musical. Book your Hadestown tickets now for a theatrical experience that transports you to a realm where love, hope, and redemption collide in the heart of the West End.
Why you should see Hadestown
- The show received the most nominations at the 73rd Tony Awards and won eight, including Best Musical and Best Original Score.
- Hadestown underwent a journey of twelve years of development, starting as a DIY project back in 2006.
- It's not just the show itself that has an award-winning quality; the Original Broadway Cast Recording also won a Grammy Award.
What's the plot of Hadestown?
Hadestown reveals a fresh new version of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Eurydice is a young girl who’s starving, desperate for food. She starts work in a hellish new version of the Greek underworld to get away from her poverty-stricken life. But the underworld isn’t what she expected, and things get tricky when her equally poverty-stricken boyfriend Orpheus comes to rescue her. According to Forbes, this is ‘An epic celebration of music, togetherness and hope’. The New York Times calls it ‘Sumptuous. Gorgeous. As good as it gets.’ Not to be missed!
Brought to the stage by a creative team of Tony Award winners such as David Neumann, Rachel Hauck and Bradley King.
Experience Hadestown's mesmerising fusion of mythology and contemporary themes. Take a journey through the underworld and immerse yourself in a world where love, passion, and resilience reign supreme.

Hades IncarateThe Music is fabulous, a little blues, a little jazz and a marvellous reinterpretation of both. Powerful female vocals, particularly Malinda Paris. Shaun Dooley almost made us believe that Hades had a point. His acting was excellent. It would be helpful for theatre patrons to have a good idea of the myth before going to the performance. Loved it.

Very disappointingIt is amazing that Hadestown won a Tony for best musical. Maybe the production, acting and dancing on Broadway made up for the weak story-telling and forgettable music? At the Lyric, the singing was top-notch. However, the songs were awkward and not at all memorable, and everything else fell far short of what I expect in a theater production. The story is dull and lacks any dramatic tension. It was very apparent that most of the cast members whose sole role was to tell the story through dance and movement are not really dancers. It felt like watching a high school production. The show was overly-long even before the cast weirdly extended it AFTER their final bows and ovation.

We should all go to Hadestown!Hadestown. Wow! What to say, soulful & powerful! A classic myth in a modern jacket and it fits like a glove. All performances shine individualy and as a collective. The song 'Why do we build a wall?' is so on point and unfortunately sad to say all to recognisable. But that is why it is so impactfull on the soul. We all should visit Hadestown!

Restricted view means NO viewRestricted view tickets should not be sold (or bought) as this really means you cannot see the stage at all. So very disappointing as the music was brilliant. As we couldn’t see the stage couldn’t say whether the acting or lighting was good but as the music was so good can only say the acting probably matched the music.
