Thriller – Live: Boogie on down to Michael Jackson’s greatest hits

This is more of an exploration and celebration of singer-songwriter and street dance whizz Michael Jackson’s spectacular talents than a biography. It doesn’t cover every aspect of the great man’s life in any detail, but you’ll enjoy a fast-paced, runaway stream of massive smash hits that made him a household name worldwide.

Thriller Live – The Story

In 1988 Adrian Grant, the man behind the stage show, was so taken with Jackson’s talent that he created the world’s first Michael Jackson fan magazine. Two years later, with a circulation of more than twenty five thousand, he was invited to Jackson’s famous funfair-filled home, Neverland, and a lifelong friendship was born. Kicking off with Jackson’s early Motown and blues tunes and covering his disco, indie and pop smashes, this show tracks Jackson’s success through the decades via his music, an affectionate and respectful look at Jackson’s musical achievements from one of his greatest fans.

Thriller Live, a genuine West End musical masterpiece

Take your seats and boogie on down as the cast belts out song after wonderful song, covering the early Motown and Jackson Five days right up to the solo successes that made such an impression on generations of music lovers. And the dance sequences are simply breath-taking. If you were thrilled by Jackson’s pop videos you’ll be equally enthralled by this West End masterpiece.

The audience always participates in the Jackson classic Shake Your Body Down, giving you the opportunity to get involved and feel even closer to one of the greatest musical stars of our times. If you weren’t lucky enough to catch Michael Jackson live before his tragic death, the stage show goes a long way towards making up for it. Whatever your age, you’ll enjoy hearing his famous songs performed live on stage by a troupe of extremely talented people, with stunning costumes, fantastic choreography and, of course, every single one of the singer’s uniquely funky dance steps.

Thriller Live song list

This spectacular show contains thirty five of Michael Jackson’s greatest and best loved hits. Act one covers Music and Me, ABC, The Love You Save, I Want You Back and I’ll Be There. Show You the Way, This Place Hotel, Another Part of Me, Shake Your Body Down and Blame It On The Boogie. She’s Out of My Life, Off The Wall, Get on the Floor, Rock With You and Never Can Say Goodbye, Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough and Can You Feel It.

Act two sees the cast performing mega-hits Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’, Working Day and Night, Dancing Machine, PYT, Beat It, The Way You Make Me Feel, I Just Can’t Stop Loving You, Smooth Criminal, Dirty Diana, Dangerous, Man in the Mirror, They Don’t Care About Us, Heal the World, Billie Jean, Thriller itself, Bad and Black or White.

Excellent Night

Absoulety brilliant MJ at his best great songs telling the story from Jackson 5 to solo Great stage presence and great interaction with the audience Well worth a watch

A must-see Michael Jackson extravaganza!

Would not recommend - waste of money

My sister and I went to see this show as it was our only option at short notice. We felt as if we were watching a rehearsal for a school musical. We were sat on the balcony which did not state that there was restricted view, yet we couldn’t see the top of the stage where there was a platform that was frequently used. The seats were tiny and both my sister and I were extremely uncomfortable for the duration. The singing was poor and the acting also. ‘Michael’ was lip syncing throughout and was obviously only cast because he could dance and was a look alike. The music felt as though it wasn’t loud enough as we could hear the dancers footsteps on stage. There was a female as one of the three lead singers - which would be fine in any other theatre show, but Michael Jackson was not a female. There were just so many things wrong with this show and I would not recommend anyone see it. It was a waste of time and money.

Talented cast & an awesome production. A must see !!

I really loved the show ... Lead singers were just stunning, terrific voices and performance. Dancers acting and performance was spotless which makes that an amazing production. A really must see for everyone and specially for Michael Jackson’s fan

Makes you want to sing and danse!

London Box Office customer

It’s a definite must see!

If you’re a fan of Michael Jackson’s music you need to see Thriller. I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish.

London Box Office customer

Enthusiastic performance but theatre was too warm - so very uncomfortable in summer!

Energy from the performers was good, and they tried to really engage with the audience. Therefore it was a nice performance. Only negative for me was the unbearably stuffy room during the performance - it felt like there was no proper ventilation in the theatre.

London Box Office customer

A must see in London, no way to miss it!

You'll have a great time, signing, feeling! A must see! Actors/Dancers do a grate job, you have for your money! You can even go if you are not really english speaking soul :)))

Exceptional Mid-sized Casino Show

Show is a bit overpriced. Similar shows play free in Vegas. As anticipated, music was outstanding. Singers were great and the men had amazing bodies.

Inspiring

Loves everything about it. Only gripe was. Michael Jackson didn't appear enough and to say it was about him..I feel he should of shown more of an appearance. But we really enjoyed it anyway.

Average singing and dancing

I don't want to sound harsh but this show was fairly average. I read the reviews and found them to be mixed but gave it a go anyway as I thought it would be nice to take my parents and sister who might just like a night of MJ's hit songs. Every aspect of this production was average, the dancers were not all synchronized, nor were all of them engaged (some of them looked like they were pretty tired and just moved like it was an effort to be there). The singing was average and it was pretty disappointing that the guy who was dressed as MJ was pretty average in his moves (his moonwalk was ok, it was the rest of his moves that were subpar). The girl singer had a really raspy voice and although she was probably one of the better dancers, she sounded like she had a frog stuck in her throat. Towards the end the energy picked up, especially as they got the crowd to their feet, and to be honest, if it weren't for the crowd that sat behind us that were overly cheerful and energetic, I felt the rest of the crowd was low energy and some I saw left at intermission and didn't come back. We got our tickets on discount but definitely would have regretted paying full price if I had to.

London Box Office customer

Bright !

Some not so familiar songs in the middle slowed the pace but really picked up post interval with a bang

London Box Office customer

thriller with sore feet and back

Thriller was good. The show was a bit different in that they had several people doing jackson. Even a girl, who was very good but seemed a strange choice. They went back in years and had a child doing jackson who was great. The main person who did jackson was certainly a great copy in looks and dance. He was outstanding in that regard but probably a bit weak in the singing. Overall I enjoyed it but if we had comfortable seats then would have been great.

London Box Office customer

A Lkttle Disapointing

Because the poster was of an actual Michael Jackson impersonator, the expectation was that this is what we would get. The one dancer who dressed up as Jackson, though, wasn't the main singer. It was odd to have a female singing the songs. Again, you kept expecting the main impersonator to appear, though he never did. The singers/costumes etc were good, and they did very well with what they had to work with , but you felt a bit deceived by the advertisement.

The liveliness is the crew kept us on our feet. No matter what age you are you will find yourself mouthing the words to at least one of the songs.

London Box Office customer

Amazing, very good singers and dancers

All the show is gorgeous. The energy of all the comedians is fabulous. The end is extraordinary !

London Box Office customer

Great show and the dancing is awesome!

Overall, it was a great experience and we had a wonderful time. One suggestion, it may be too much of photography policing. We rent a binocular but the lady mistakenly thought it’s a camera and flashed on me. A little unpleasant. But, we loved the dancing and what a great show!!!

London Box Office customer

Brilliant

London Box Office customer

You’ll be dancing in the aisles

Excellent show, brilliant music and amazing vocals

London Box Office customer

Brilliant show that everyone should go and see

London Box Office customer

Thriller and no Michael Jacksob

Very disappointed that we went to see Michael Jackson and he only preformed in 4-5 songs. The main woman who sang most didn’t have anything with Michal Jackson to do so was not happy.

London Box Office customer

Dazzling, jaw-dropping musical

Fantastic performance

London Box Office customer

Great show, great music, great singers, great dancers

Michael Jackson's songs are part of my generation and the show covers all of the songs I was grown with, Fantastic lights, dancers and singers. Not a traditional musical since there Is no plot at all, but enjoyable.

London Box Office customer

Just average

London Box Office customer

Amazing depiction of Michael Jackson.

We were in the stalls and they were nice comfortable chairs. The spotlights at the side of the stage were pointed towards the audience, and this made for uncomfortable viewing sometimes as they glared into our eyes. The dancers were on the move the whole time and were fabulous. The singers were absolutely brilliant, especially when one of them sang 'She's out of my life', if you close your eyes it was just as if Michael was there. I highly recommend this show.

London Box Office customer

fabulous!

this is a fabulous show!

London Box Office customer

We liked it.

We went to see this show as we all liked Michael Jackson's music.. No actual story unlike other musicals, but the dancing and song performances more than made up for that. If you like Michael Jackson it will not disappoint.
