Hamilton the Musical – The story
This is the life story of Alexander Hamilton, inspired by the 2004 biography from historian Ron Chernow. The score mashes up rap, R&B and operetta, creating an unmissable portrait of the man whose face graces the ten dollar bill, and without whom the USA would probably be a very different place. He made history, and this musical is set to do the same. As President Obama added, “It’s a story for all of us – about all of us.”
The cast album was streamed online by literally millions of Americans. And all over the nation people are singing those tunes at work, at home, in the streets. Seldom has a stage musical scored such a massive hit with people of every age, gender and race. Premium tickets were on sale for over five hundred dollars at one stage, pricing many audience members out of the market completely, and tickets on the Black Market were, apparently, going for three times that much. The show's Daily Lottery for ten dollar tickets was so badly over-subscribed the lottery website crashed. All of which means this is probably going to end up one of the shows of the decade, and it's already being eagerly awaited in London's West End.

Fantastic show2nd time seeing this amazing show and it didn’t disappoint 2nd time round. Only criticism is that children under a certain age should not be allowed in. We had 2 children under 10 in front of us and they were not at all interested in the show, they just kept fidgeting and talking, one couple brought their toddler in, again they were not interested, they had to leave before the end as the toddler was disturbing everyone around them.

Need education firstHamilton is a complicated story and people going should prepare by reading Ron Chertov's book on Hamilton. Otherwise, Google a long discription of what takes place. The words are usually very hard to make out from the actors, as only a few have incisive diction.

Perfection on Every LevelI expected the show to be first rate but it was more impressive than I could have imagined. Knowing that the performers do multiple shows no one could blame them for having a few ‘off’ moments but they were amazing; energetic and of the highest quality. Now I understand the hypeHadn't been to the theatre for a couple of years and this reminded me what I've been missing. Such a fantastic, clever production from the first minute to the last. The set was simple but effective, the acting impeccable and the music and vocals simply amazing. We sat up in the Royal Circle which gave us a fantastic elevated view of the stage and yet still felt close enough to feel involved in the production. Was a pre-Christmas treat for my Partner and she was beyond thrilled. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Only in LondonOnly London can produce a spectacle like Hamilton. Cast. Dancers, staging was perfection. I always like a tune to hum on the way home but Hamilton was not that kind of show. If I am critical the two main characters (both black men) were too similar and I mixed them up constantly. Otherwise a great night.

Caught me by surprise, how much I enjoyed this show.I bought the tickets for a visiting relative and I had seen clips of the show. Wasn't sure if this would be for me. It was a brilliant and exuberant musical. The cast were on top form and the audience (which I pay close attention to as well) were thoroughly enjoying themselves. The choreography and script which have to be memorised, sung, danced and acted by the cast is truly remarkable. I appreciate the level of dedication that has gone into a production like this. Just a final note, this is the first time I have seen an audience give a standing ovation at a show that I have attended...truly deserved.

An absolute must see!!This was my fourth visit to Hamilton at the Victoria Palace, and it was just as good as the other three. A wonderful show, with fantastic players, and an appreciative audience. Lafayette/Jefferson wasn’t as good as others I have seen, but otherwise brilliant.
