An Exciting Year Ahead for English National Opera

English National Opera have just announced an exciting new season for their home venue, the vast and majestic Coliseum Theatre on St Martins Lane, in the West End.
The company have received a torrent of criticism recently but this line-up should satisfy all their critics as it's both classy and populist. Let's hope they can win better reviews, positivity and bigger audiences.

THRILLER LIVE, the long running West End concert/musical celebrating the life and music of Michael Jackson is still one of London’s most popular shows and it’s about to sail confidently into its tenth year making it the 6th longest running musical currently playing in the West End.


Review: ABSOLUTE HELL at the National Theatre

The National Theatre could do with another hit following a few dodgy productions whilst it’s been shored up by recent sure-fire crowd pleasers AMADEUS and FOLLIES.
This isn’t quite it but it’s a near miss, full marks for effort all round, and it’s well worth a long evening of your time.


Review: FROZEN at The St James Theatre, New York

Over the past 10 years the Disney organisation has become a major player in the stage musicals business. There have been massive, internationally replicated successes like THE LION KING, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and ALADDIN and critically acclaimed and much respected shows, for instance NEWSIES, a magnificent New York centric musical which is yet to transfer to the West End, and PETER AND THE STAR CATCHER which had a respectable Off Broadway and Broadway run. But there have also been some real clunkers like THE LITTLE MERMAID and TARZAN which sunk in the Big Apple and have only had a few revivals since.

One of the most anticipated openings of the current Broadway Season is director Bartlett Sher's revival of MY FAIR LADY at the Lincoln Centre where he’s recently staged world class productions of SOUTH PACIFIC and THE KING AND I (to be revived soon at the London Palladium)
