Memphis gets the X Factor

Memphis Previous X Factor winner Matt Cardle is due to star in the multi award-winning West End production of Memphis the Musical.

The popular recording artist will take over from Killian Donnelly in the role of Huey Calhoun from 6 July 2015, joining the current leading lady Beverley Knight, who will continue in her role as soul sensation Felicia Farrell.

Billy Elliot extends in the West End and film version in the pipeline

Billy Elliot Smash-hit British musical Billy Elliot celebrated its tenth birthday in London’s West End last week and to mark the celebration, producers of the show have announced that it is extending its run at the Victoria Palace Theatre to 17 December 2016.

At the star-studded anniversary performance on 12th May 2015, Stephen Daldry director of Billy Elliot the Musical said ‘From the start, Billy Elliot has given me enormous professional fulfilment as well as huge pride and the show will always have a very special place in my heart.

The first thing you should know if you’re considering buying a ticket to see Sir Anthony Sher in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of DEATH OF A SALESMAN, written by Arthur Miller in 1949, is that you’ll be watching one of the greatest plays ever created.

Motown the Musical comes to the Shaftesbury Theatre

Motown the Musical comes to the Shaftesbury Theatre After much speculation and gossip, the producers of the sell-out Broadway show Motown the Musical have finally announced the West End venue that will house the smash-hit production. The Shaftesbury Theatre in the heart of London’s theatreland will be the new home of the Berry Gordy penned musical, set to open in late February 2016.

Review of American Buffalo at the Wyndhams Theatre

American Buffalo at Wyndham's Theatre There are very few actors whose appearance in a film or TV show will make me want to watch it regardless of anything else. John Goodman is one of those actors so it was a great thrill to be able to see him live in the West End. It’s not that he’s particularly different in each performance. Even though he does a nice line in villains from time to time and occasionally flirts with an accent he always looks and sounds pretty much as he did as Dan Connor in the long running, hit sit-com Roseanne, which made him a household name.
