Be Immortalised in the new Tricycle Theatre

Tricycle Theatre Now here’s a novel way to help cash strapped London Theatre and achieve a little fame for yourself!

The welcoming and busy Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn is inviting members of the public to pay to have a seat named after them in the newly refurbished auditorium. For a one off price of £1000 one of the 280 seats could have your name affixed to it for future audiences to see.

All sorts of top names have gone on record to encourage you including Adrian Lester, Kenneth Branagh, Jim Carter, Gina McKee, Imelda Staunton and Meera Syal.

If you’d like more information the venue is holding a public open day on Thursday 2 June where audiences and members of the public can take a tour of the building with project’s architects, Chapman Waterworth and hear about the new plans.

Lester believes it will mean a better experience for both audiences and actors alike and Branagh has spoken excitedly about the prospect of helping the Tricycle’s auditorium to be “transformed into a state of the art, world-class theatre that truly reflects the quality of the work being produced on its stage.”

The redesigned theatre will include:

  • 50 additional seats.
  • A new air cooling system.
  • Easier and greater access for wheelchair users.
  • A new café space
  • Improved customer facilities.

If having your name appear on a seat doesn’t appeal there are other ways to have your name feature in the new building including a scheme they’re calling Make Your Mark, whereby, the press release tells us, “ donors’ names will be artistically displayed as part of a bespoke design within the front of house area for £5,000”

So far the Tricycle has raised £5.5 million and requires a further £750,000 to complete the project.
