With 'Can-Can' raising the roof at the Union Theatre, ENO's acclaimed production of The Merry Widow returning to the Coliseum next month and this wonderful Gilbert and Sullivan revival at Wilton's Music Hall, it's a good time for operetta on all kinds of London stages at the moment.

I love to see new writing, and I have to admit I did see the embryonic version of this piece at a scratch night. It left me then impressed and intrigued. The Boomerang I saw last night filled in much more detail, exploring far further the history and layers of the core three relationships, and left me much the same way.

Review: ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES at The Theatre Royal, Haymarket

They seem an odd match, the opulent, elegant Theatre Royal, Haymarket and the BBC TV comedy Only Fools and Horses which dominated the television schedules in the late 1980s.
