Review: BOY TOY at Above the Stag Theatre

Boy Toy Now here’s a very interesting idea from London’s alternative theatre scene. Although perhaps it might be more accurate to call it a promising idea because although choreographer and theatre maker, William Spencer’s 60 minute narrative ballet, BOY TOY (based on the Coppelia story from classical ballet) is great fun, the most exciting thing about it is the potential he shows to really shake up LGBT theatre and beyond.

Review: THE DAMNED at The Barbican Theatre

The Damned (Les Damnées) Comédie-Française at the Barbican It feels as if scarcely a month goes by without one production or another by superstar director Ivo Van Hove causing a splash in London. His radical staging of ALL ABOUT EVE was recently at the Noel Coward Theatre and we’ve had revelatory productions of Arthur Miller, Shakespeare, Ibsen and Sophocles amongst many others. He’s equally busy on Broadway (NETWORK was a sensation) and coming up the maestro will be re-conceiving WEST SIDE STORY.

Amour the Musical I’m sad to report AMOUR, London’s cutest musical, closed early, last weekend.

Its sugary-sweet love story sent everyone home from the Charing Cross Theatre with a smile on their face and a spring in their step.
