Oscar Winning Film, Stage and TV Star F Murray Abraham Comes to The West End

F Murray Abraham - The Mentor F Murray Abraham is heading to the West End and I can’t wait to see him perform live again.

He was virtually unknown to the wider public when he was cast as the lead in a Hollywood film of Peter Shaffer’s hit stage play Amadeus, which some of you may have seen revived recently at the National Theatre. The show opens in 1983 during rehearsals for the 25th anniversary Motown TV special celebrating the rags to riches story of founder Berry Gordy.

Last chance to catch the Beautiful BEAUTIFUL

Beautiful - The Carole King Musical I always like to celebrate a show whose primary purpose is to give pleasure and Beautiful which is about to end its time at the Aldwych Theatre after a very respectable run of over two years, is just such a show.

You also learn a lot too. Although I’ve loved songs like So Far Away, Take Good Care of My Baby and Locomotion but I had no idea that the same songwriter was behind them all. That song writer was Carole King and the show takes the form of a gentle autobiography, dramatising scenes from King’s life interspersed with musical numbers she’s written.
