`Young Vic announces new shows and casting for 2026/27 season

In casting news, Lashana Lynch will star in the world premiere of dissent, a new play written and directed by Olivier Award and BAFTA winner debbie tucker green, which will explore “humanity’s capacity for monstrous behaviour.” Lynch is best known for playing Maria Rambeau in the MCU, Nomi in the James Bond film No Time to Die, and Miss Honey in the film adaptation of Matilda the Musical.

It was also announced that Deanna H. Choi and Glyn Pritchard will join Ben Whishaw and Kathryn Hunter in the world premiere of Colin Teevan’s adaptation of Christian Kracht’s international best-seller Eurotrash, directed by Walter Meierjohann.

Four exciting new shows have been added to the Young Vic's 2026/27 season, described by Artistic Director Nadia Fall as "deliberately designed to offer something unexpected, with theatre that is literally and figuratively ‘outside the box’."

The Pelicot Trial

The UK premiere of Milo Rau and Servane Dècle’s new piece of documentary theatre will explore the harrowing true events of Gisele Pelicot's rape trial, using testimonies and written accounts from the trial, police files, social commentary and psychiatric reports of the 51 men who were prosecuted. Performed by a company of 30 actors and public figures, it will play at The Chamber at London County Hall, Home of Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution.

A Hunger Artist

Former Royal Ballet Principal Edward Watson stars as the Hunger Artist alongside international performance artist Meow Meow as the Impresario in a reimagining of Franz Kafka’s short story A Hunger Artist. Choreographer Arthur Pita directs this immersive spectacle which incorporates music, song, dance and theatre, with live music by Frank Moon.

From the award-winning disability-led theatre company FlawBored comes the London premiere of this new biting satire written by Samuel Brewer, Aarian Mehrabani, Chloe Palmer and Josh Roche, who also directs. It explores medical bureaucracy, identity politics and our desperate human need to feel significant.

From pioneering immersive theatre producers Darkfield comes a unique new show performed in complete darkness within a shipping container situated outside the Young Vic, using binaural sound and speech recognition technology to deceive the senses.
