Not only do Londoners have the chance to see Glenn Close recreate her celebrated performance as Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's SUNSET BOULEVARD next summer but it's just been announced that another legendary leading lady will also be crossing the Atlantic.
The triple Tony, double Drama Desk and Golden GlobeAward winning Broadway star Bernadette Peters will play her first UK solo concerts in over 15 years next summer.

Today the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (STAR) is leading an awareness campaign aiming to reduce ticket fraud for entertainment and sports events by encouraging customers to look for the STAR mark when buying tickets.
This mark is used by members of STAR who sign up to a strict Code of Practice, which requires high levels of service, information and protection, and guarantees that the ticket is from a reliable source. Buying from a STAR member offers the same sort of reassurance you get when buying a holiday through an ABTA or ATOL registered travel agent.

Disney Theatrical Productions announced have just announced who is to play the leads in the West End premiere of the new musical based on the classic Academy Award®-winning animated film, Aladdin. The eagerly awaited big budget Broadway show will open at the Prince Edward Theatre on Wednesday 15 June 2016, with previews from Friday 27 May.
Don’t get too excited, it’s no one you’ve ever heard of, mostly ex members of THE LION KING and BEND IT LIKE BECHAM casts although no doubt they’re excellent performers. The big news is that Broadway cast member Trevor Dion Nicholas will make his London stage debut as Genie.

Last night the winners were announced for the 61st Evening Standard Theatre Awards, in a star studded gala at the Old Vic Theatre, co-hosted by the owner of the Evening Standard Evgeny Lebedev with Judi Dench and Ian McKellen, and presented by Rob Brydon.
In recent years the awards have proved somewhat controversial with several members of the judging panel walking out when a best actress award was given to Helen Mirren despite their voting for a less high-profile candidate. It seemed things were rigged to create the most glamorous event possible, generating red-carpet photographs to promote the newspaper rather than rewarding excellence.

Having enjoyed Mentalist, Derren Brown’s TV shows for years I was, I must admit, quite excited to have the opportunity to finally see him live on stage. It is therefore a pleasure to report that his new show, MIRACLE, at the Palace Theatre for the next ten weeks, is chock full of the kind of jaw dropping tricks audiences have come to expect from Brown. Over and over throughout this slickly written and directed show you just keep thinking, “I know it’s a trick, but HOW DOES HE DO IT?”
